Collagen & Radiesse Procedure Description:

Soft Tissue Augmentation can be accomplished by several injectable and implantable products to fill facial wrinkles and scars, enlarge lips and fine-tune your appearance. They include Collagen, Radiesse and others. Areas that can be treated include lips, glabellar creases (also known as "frown lines"), nasolabial folds (creases that run from each side of the nose to the corner of the mouth), perioral wrinkles (fine lines around the lips) and post-traumatic atrophy.

Collagen

Collagen is a natural protein formed throughout the body that provides texture, resiliency, and structural support to the skin. Injectable collagen has been helpful in minimizing fine lines and scars, and filling in soft tissue depressions. Before use, a Collagen test is applied to check for an allergic reaction. Collagen can be used quickly with little post-treatment redness, swelling or bruising. Collagen results are immediate and can last for 1 to 3 months.

Collagen Fees: 1cc is $350; 2cc are $600; 3cc are $900

Radiesse

Radiesse filler is a calcium-based material which when injected forms a "scaffold" to support and stimulate collagen growth. As the material is broken down and absorbed, the new collagen remains giving a longer lasting result. Injectable Radiesse filler is best used in deeper lines and folds and can be used for hand rejuvenation as well. Radiesse filler is not used for lip enhancement or augmentation. Radiesse filler injections last an average of 6-18 months.

Radiesse Fees: $800 per cc

Autogenous Fat

Similar to Collagen or Radiesse injections, fat can be used to increase the size of the lips, fill in a crevice or fold and to improve some post-traumatic defects. This fat is usually harvested from the abdomen or thigh using local anesthesia or during a liposuction procedure. The fat is washed, prepared and then re-injected into the desired areas. There can be some post-treatment swelling and bruising, usually resolving in 5-10 days. Approximately 50% of the injected fat remains viable and permanently integrates into the soft tissue. Occasionally a second or third treatment is indicated to obtain the final desired result.
